If, like us, you have been mourning Barbara Holland, aka Barb, since season one of Strangers Things, we have good news: Netflix might have finally given us long-deserved #JusticeForBarb, if only in an alternate reality.

In the ultimate Netflix crossover reference, the streaming giant gave Barb a more favorable fate (and a rather bad*ss one, TBH) on its Twitter account. “There is a beautiful alternate reality somewhere in which Barb is a witch and Bhoot is her familiar and they are living the life they deserve,” Netflix US tweeted.

As you may know, Barb was killed during the first season of Strangers Things after falling prey to the Demogorgon in Steve’s swimming pool. Yet her memory lived on and, even if Shannon Purser did not reprise the role in the show’s sophomore season, we did get some closure on Barb’s storyline.

Like Barb’s demise, another Netflix character is prompting fans to demand justice. In Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, Netflix’s adaptation of the classic Jungle Book stories from 1894, Bhoot, an albino wolf pup, who also happens to be Mowgli’s BFF, dies tragically at the hands of a hunter. “What’s really sad about #bhoot is that he’s seen as the ugly outcast and it isn’t until the end that someone sees how rare and beautiful he is and they make a trophy out of him,” one fan pointed out on Twitter.

These two characters have more in common than you'd think: As some fans believe, Bhoot is “the most tragic movie character of 2018,” and Barb was indisputably the most tragic series character of 2016.

To picture them both living a wickedly happy life in Greendale as familiar and witch? Now that sounds like justice at last.
